Biografie

Makiko Hisasue is a Japanese climber and artist from Hiyama, Hokkaido, born in 1949, who worked at the Hokkaido archaeological heritage centre. She took up high-altitude climbing after Kilimanjaro over the 1995–96 New Year and reached the summit of Everest from the north on 20 May 2004 with Chizuko Kono's expedition.

She completed the 7 summits on Vinson in December 2005, the third Japanese woman to do so, and wrote about it in 世界のてっぺんに立った! (2010). She later taught Japanese in Thailand.
