Biografie
Robert John Kay, die zowel de Amerikaanse als de Australische nationaliteit heeft, voltooide de 7 summits op Everest op 19 mei 2016, bij zijn vierde poging. Hij heeft ook alle 58 toppen van 14.000 voet in Colorado beklommen, alle 50 hoogste punten van de Amerikaanse staten, de Mont Blanc (23 april 2011), de Manaslu (met een ski-afdaling), Lobuche East, Island Peak en de Pico de Orizaba. Tijdens de afdaling van Everest ontwikkelde hij longoedeem en werd hij gered vanaf kamp 2; de reddingsactie is te zien in de Discovery Channel-serie Everest Rescue.
