Glacier glasses on Vinson

What it is for
Very dark sunglasses (category 4) with side protection, against the glare of sun on snow and ice. Without them you risk snow blindness within hours.
What Vinson asks for
Standard
Filter category 4 with side shields and a nose guard (built in or clip-on), on a leash; a second pair is optional: the goggles are the backup. If you need glasses to see: prescription lenses, or spare glasses and contacts
What to look for
- Lens category (0–4)
- How much light the lenses stop. Category 3 is ordinary sunglasses; category 4 is for glaciers and high altitude, and is too dark to drive in.
