Tanzania adds arrival health form for travellers

From 17 October 2026, every international traveller arriving in Tanzania must complete an online Traveller's Health Surveillance Form, with temperature screening at airports, land borders and seaports. A separate mandatory inbound travel insurance policy has applied since 1 October 2026. Both affect anyone flying in for a Kilimanjaro climb this season.

Tanzania and Kenya now require entry insurance

Since the start of October 2026, foreign visitors to mainland Tanzania and Kenya must buy a government travel insurance policy to enter, at $44 per adult. The cover is limited and does not replace a proper mountain policy. Kilimanjaro climbers still need their own insurance for high-altitude trekking, rescue and evacuation.
